More information can be found at our blog on silverbits.ponyclub.org Anyone with ideas of things or for those of you who  how to help please email bryson.bridget@gmail.com .  If we do end up with too
much (can you ever have too much?!), we will have a tack sale to add to our relief fund.

The Harringtons; Breanna (12) and Ashley (11) are both D2s.  Both of their ponies had to be put to sleep with injuries too severe to even think about. They also have a third pony, Dixie, who was trapped under the fallen barn and is badly injured.  She has a lot of puncture wounds, some nasty gashes and two really bad areas - near fore is sliced from knee to fetlock (you can see 'everything'), and on her off-quarter a huge slice about 8" square open area - right around her hamstring.  They also have their mother's Friesian (completely unharmed) and the 2-year old son of Ashley's pony, who has a nasty puncture wound on the neck and a rip on his belly.  The house is gone, the barn is gone and so far we have found one bridle, a lunge whip and a D Rally ribbon.  No other tack, halters, bandages or anything else 'horsy'.
The Huntleys; Liz (9) and Michael (7), D1 and unrated respectively.  They had 2 ponies and 2 horses.  The 2 horses were both killed by the tornado. One of the ponies happened to be staying at my house for the weekend, the other one has been badly injured and although not quite as bad as Dixie, Brody is suffering from severe shock - he is hanging in there though!  None of their horse equipment or riding clothes have been found.  Little Liz tearfully asked me what she was going to do because she had lost her Pony Club pin...
The Harringtons' horses and the one Huntley pony are at my barn and Brody is at another member's barn and we are all doing everything we can to keep them all safe and comfortable.  The kids are visiting often and come to 'love on' their ponies whenever they can. As far as emergency relief is concerned, these would be our priorities for the next 4 months or so (with estimated cost): We also need fencing supplies to get an extra grazing area that a neighbor offered, but I would imagine that would count as 'structural'.
Other things that we are looking for are:
Riding apparel (all jodhpurs/breeches/tights are gone!).  Sizes needed are 8-10, 10-12 & 12-14
Paddock boots - sizes 3, 5, 8 and 9
Helmets
Gloves
Pony tack - 10 hand pony, 13 hand pony, 14 hand pony
Fly sheets, masks and boots
Saddle pads
Grooming kits
Tack cleaning
Muck buckets and barn equipment for when they can rebuild
First aid equipment
Wraps and padding
& everything else you can think about that we have in our barns - feed buckets, water buckets, pitchfork etc.
Then of course the big things that perhaps someone has to lease or loan - from trailer to something to ride!  I want to keep these kids involved and feeling a part of things because Pony Club has been a huge part of their lives - both families rarely miss a meeting and are always part of the team.
We have a borrowed pony that we will use and an offer of another when the time is right - the Pony Club team is truly wonderful!
The good news is that we have a club where there are places for these recovering horses to go and of course we are all pitching in to do what we can - but when they are ready to go home, they will have nothing. Please let me know any additional information that you might need - and thank you for your help!
